Job Description

Salary/Position Classification

  • $25.00 hourly NonExempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • Varies (either 4 or 6 hours in total depending on the camp schedule) hours per week
  • 100 Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a parttime nonbenefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering a structured program of adapted physical activities for children aged 8 to 12 including those with physical or developmental disabilities such as Autism and Down syndrome
    • Activities include pickleball catching throwing and other fundamental movements
  • Setup and prepare equipment for activities.
  • Participate in training sessions to prepare for the program implementation.

Required Competencies

  • Ability to work with children including those with special needs.
  • Skills in organizing and implementing structured physical activities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at UND during the summer and fall of 2025.
  • Ability to participate in the summer program consistency.

  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

In compliance with federal law all persons hired will be required to verify identityand eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in special education early childhood education adapted physical activity and motor development.
  • Eagerness to learn motor development assessment physical activity measures (using accelerometers) and program design & implementation.
  • Previous experience in these areas is not required but is beneficial.
