Compensation dependent on experience
Position Summary
The Emergency Services Clinician (LPC LCSW LMFT or Resident) LMHP/LMHPE will respond to requests from the agency and the community for crisis intervention services to include limitedterm crisis Intervention information and referral to community resources. and/or preadmission screening for inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. This position will also develop working relationships with area hospitals schools social services law enforcement and other community partners; by actively providing consultation support and education.
Required Education and Experience
- Masters Degree from a program that prepares individuals to practice counseling 60hr Masters Program) which is offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency. (Re: 54.13500 of the Code of Virginia)
- No experience is required. Experience with the adults in an outpatient setting is preferred.
- Related credentials: Resident in Professional Counseling Supervisee in Clinical Social Work Resident in Licensed Marriage Family Therapy Resident in Substance Abuse Treatment or eligibility to apply for residency. Note: New hires will be expected to apply for clinical supervision and residency within 30 days of hire.
Related Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of evidencebased practices to include but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family group and individual therapies; psychosocial education; risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc.
- Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individuals treatment and access to community resources.
- Knowledge of the principles procedures techniques trends and literature related to mental health intellectual disabilities and substance abuse
- Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.
- Ability to drive and must possess a valid drivers license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients provide services to client @other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites; Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal deescalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
