Job Description
Northern Manufacturing a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication is seeking a mechanically inclined handson technician to join our team on 1st shift 6:00am 3:30pm).
This is a handson position focused on custom complex projects. This is not a repetitive assembly line job. Youll be working on unique oneofakind metal fabrication projects after the welding phase. Were looking for a problemsolver with a mechanical mindset capable of adapting to new challenges every day and working both independently and collaboratively to bring unique customer projects to life.
Responsibilities include:
- Install and assemble mechanical components for customfabricated projects (gearboxes motors drums etc..
- Interpret mechanical blueprints to follow detailed build instructions and ensure proper installation of parts.
- Inspect your work and collaborate with team members to ensure highquality accurate builds.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the build process.
- Perform a variety of handson tasks such as finishing edges tapping holes and operating small equipment.
- Operate forklifts cranes and other tools to move materials safely.
- Keep a clean organized and safetyfocused work environment.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job the employee is regularly required to stand walk stoop lift climb balance and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Mechanically inclined with experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints (preferred).
- Understanding of metal components and fabrication environments.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive selfstarting mindset.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
Note: This position is not an assembly line or massproduction role. It requires mechanical knowledge blueprint reading and experience working on custom builds or fabrication projects.
