Position Summary
The University of North CarolinaChapel Hill Department of Orthopaedic is seeking energetic organized and detailoriented applicants to join our Clinical Trials team as a Clinical Research Assistant. The successful candidate will work with our clinical & research faculty and staff to serve the research missions of the department school and university. This includes but is not limited to study startup activities subject recruitment screening and enrollment; accurate data collection data entry and quality assurance; and regulatory oversight of assigned research studies. UNC Orthopaedics research staff work closely with Principal Investigators resident physicians and other research staff and in the various clinical and surgical settings to support our ongoing funded and unfunded research studies as assigned. Strong communication skills across medical disciplines and ability to interface with industry federal and foundation sponsors are required. Our department supports professional development and advancement of research skills and our clinical research program is based on a teamoriented collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
The candidate must have very strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be able to work independently. It is essential that the candidate be able to analyze and interpret policy and procedural guidelines and apply those guidelines appropriately. The candidate must have demonstrated experience and/or ability in organizing workflow and coordinating multiple priorities. The candidate must be familiar with HIPAA and have completed formal training. The candidate must be familiar with the concepts of Good Clinical Practice.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Experience recruiting and working in clinical /research academic environment. Vigorous experience working with MS Office which includes MS Excel and MS Access (or similar database software) qualifications: working knowledge of data entry database management REDcap or a similar platform Epic EMR data storage requirements for research and experience working with the IRB processes is strongly desired. Experience with data collection in the area of sports medicine or exercise and sports science and previous engagements working with division 1 (one) athletes. Certification such as ATC CSCS or other relevant health professional accreditations.
