Hours: PRN
SUMMARY
The Dentist provides primary preventive and restorative dental care to eligible patients at the Sulzbacher Pediatric Clinic. The dentist is aware of budget parameters manages medications treatments and referrals to other services as needed and as governed by approved dental protocols. The dentist supervises dental assistants hygienists volunteers and students at his/her assigned site. The dentist must have the knowledge and skills to treat children and/or adults who may be persons with special needs. Applicants must be able to administer Nitrous Oxide as indicated.
Sulzbacher Dental clinics have a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) score of 26 and applicants may qualify for student loan repayment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical: Provides quality dental care to eligible patients including diagnosis preventative care and treatment medication management and referrals for other services as needed and as governed by approved dental protocols and guidelines. Actively collaborates with other physicians/health professionals to ensure holistic patient care. Maintains documentation and patient records in accordance with regulatory and Center policies. Records patientdentist interactions as they occur in the patients electronic medical record accurately and completely to reflect the nature of the contact and the care or treatment provided.
Supervisory / Administrative: Supervises Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists as required. Assists in the provision of continuing education onthejob training and the orientation of dental staff as requested. May temporarily assume leadership of the Dental Clinic in the absence of the Clinic Director; may assume other administrative tasks as required.
RESIDENT GUEST AND INTERNAL CUSTOMER FOCUS
The Dentist is sensitive to cultural spiritual and practical needs of resident families guests and staff members in all interactions. He/she provides positive feedback and comments about the quality of work and effort that have been offered by patients residents families and coworkers and adjusts priorities and schedules to meet specific customer needs. The Dentist reports and/or corrects problems related to safety cleanliness and comfort of resident patient and work areas and follows Standard Precautions and Infection Control techniques. He/she demonstrates an understanding of their role in facility safety plans and procedures related to fire weather and other disasters.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- Florida licensed dentist with current valid Florida dental license
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening
- Physical/Mental Demands & Working Conditions:
- Transportation and valid drivers license
- Physically able to work in a fastpaced environment
- Able to travel locally
- Works in typical clinical office setting
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds
