Mechanical Design/Hardware Engineer for the Trinity project

3 days in the office (Tues Wed Thu) the other 2 days remote
Role is inside IR35
Duration 31st August 2025 (might be extended)
Rate 50 per hour PAYE plus holiday and pension 65.40ph to Umbrella)
A 37 hour week 7.4 hours per day)
Candidates must have experience in the defence and electronic industries.
Candidates with existing SC clearance is highly desirable however we can start someone on a BPSS (but they must be UK National and British born for Trinity project)
The requirements for this role are a real mix of skills and maybe suitable for a mechanical designer
Job Description Technical Requirements Qualification in mechanical engineering. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer. Proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks. Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices. Experience of designing sheet metal machined parts and assemblies. Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Experience with cable routing and management. Attentive to detail and critically minded. Desirable Technical Requirements A basic understanding of electronics. FEA CFD simulation experience. Experience with designing for EMC compliance Experience with designing for military usage. Responsibilities Design and development of packaging & mounting arrangements for COTS items. Design of electromechanical assemblies. Producing part & GA drawings. Peer reviews. Designing for manufacture review. Routing cables in 3D CAD. Producing cable/harness assemblies and drawings.
