St. Catherine of Siena School

St. Catherine of Siena School is seeking an instructional assistant and lead K8 After School Care Assistant (this is a dualposition) for the school year. St. Catherine is located in the beautiful Maple Leaf community of north Seattle and currently serves 272 students in preschool through 8th grade. We offer a competitive salary and a welcoming inclusive work environment. Candidates do not need to be Catholic to apply but should feel comfortable working in a faithbased environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION: During the school day the teaching assistant works closely with teachers and staff to prepare daily activities and provide support for students. In addition the assistant works collaboratively with teachers to help foster a distinctly Catholic developmentallyrich learning environment for all students promoting all aspects of development. The instructional assistant helps in overseeing various parts of student daily life such as lunch and recess as well as overseeing classes occasionally. After school the extended care assistant helps to create a positive energetic engaging and safe Extended Care environment for our school community. Schedule is MondayFriday 8:00 AM4:30 PM September 2025 through midJune 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least oneyear experience working with school age children; experience working in a school environment preferred but not required
Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills (with adults and children)
Demonstrates an ability to work with children in a positive & nurturing manner
Is a selfstarter and possesses the ability to take initiative on own to complete tasks
Must successfully pass a background check and complete the required safeenvironment training

PRIMARY DUTIES: Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Provide a welcoming nurturing learning environment for all students
Assist teachers and students during daily activities
Help to prepare materials for lessons & activities
Help supervise students in the classroom on the playground and at lunch
Maintain a physical environment that is clean safe and orderly
Collaborate with other staff including teachers and instructional aides
Flexible and willing to work with a team mindset

Hourly wage: $25$28/hour Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
