Prime Air is seeking an experienced experienced Embedded Software Development Engineer who combines superb technical research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. Experience with firmware development board bringup and debugging issues spanning the hardware/software boundary are critical. Previous experience in developing safetycritical software is also valued. A successful candidate will be comfortable working with a team of topnotch developers and collaborating with our research teams. Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazons ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities
* Design develop and test critical features for embedded applications and platforms that power the Prime Air Drone.
* Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes for complex functional and performance issues.
* Collaborate with our hardware teams and vendors to enable new computing hardware and functionality.


3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
3 years of embedded firmware development experience
Experience in embedded development in C/C
Experience with board bringup and debugging hardware through the use of logic analyzers oscilloscopes etc.

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience with battery management systems and/or propulsion

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
