You will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of industrial and employee relations within the organisation. The role works closely with management unions and employees to promote fair and equitable labour practices and to resolve any issues that may arise.

The role is also responsible for the development implementation and oversight of policies that align with the organisations strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop implement and maintain employment policies and procedures that comply with relevant laws and support business objectives.
  • Oversee workplace investigations related to employee relations issues.
  • Handle grievances disciplinary actions and terminations in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Advise and support line managers on handling employee relations issues including conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management on employment law and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with union representatives and other employee bodies.
  • Involvement in the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements ensuring they align with company goals and legal requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with industrial agreements policies and legislation.
  • Represent the company in industrial tribunals arbitration and other legal settings.
  • Manage industrial disputes including negotiation mediation and resolution.

To be successful in the role you will require:

  • Bachelor of Human Resources Industrial Relations Law or a related field.
  • Professional certification in HR or Industrial Relations (e.g. SHRM CIPD) is desirable.
  • 8 years experience in industrial and employment relations.
  • Proven experience in managing complex employee relations issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and supporting geographically dispersed teams and the ability to influence parties at an operational level.
  • This position will require availability to travel to other sites when required.
