Under the general supervision of the Community Mental Health Services (CMHS) Program Administrator this position is responsible for providing statewide program direction to the Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) section of the Division of Behavioral Health to include recommendations for funding and support of existing grants contracts and Reimbursable Service Agreements supporting these activities throughout communities in Alaska. The position will supervise staff within this section specifically in the areas of suicide prevention and other behavioral health prevention and early interventions.
The incumbent is directly responsible for the coordination and direction of the recidivism reduction programs as well as other reentryrelated projects. Responsibilities include providing programmatic technical assistance to grantees and statewide consultation. This position represents the division in departmental workgroups and advisory committees playing a key role in the states strategic planning for suicide and behavioral health prevention and early intervention efforts along with reentry projects.The mission of the Division of Behavioral Health is topromotean integrated and comprehensive behavioral health system based on sound policy effective practices and partnerships.
