The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for Academic Associate positions during theacademic year. Academic Associates are parttime faculty who are hired on onesemester renewable contracts to assist in one or two 3credit) courses (not to exceed 0.40 FTE) per semester either inperson or online. For this position we seek to attract an active culturally and academically diverse pool of qualified people who are available to assist in online courses in our Master of Arts degree program in Criminal Justice including the capstone course in the program.
Academic Associate positions are fixedterm appointments that are not eligible for benefits sabbaticals or tenure. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned assignment load. Official transcripts are required prior to employment. Individuals employed as Academic Associates may not hold multiple nonbenefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

The SCCJ offers inperson graduate courses (for the Master of Science in criminology and criminal justice and the Ph.D. in criminology and criminal justice) on ASUs Downtown Phoenix campus. SCCJ offers inperson undergraduate courses for the Bachelor of Science degree in criminology and criminal justice and the B.S. with a policing concentration on the Downtown West (Glendale) and Tempe campuses as well as at ASU at Lake Havasu City. The SCCJ offices are conveniently located on ASUs Downtown Phoenix campus in the heart of the fifth largest city in the United States. The successful candidate will engage in teaching and mentoring students and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the School.
Job Duties:
The specific responsibilities of Academic Associates are limited to assisting faculty with online courses which includes activities such as grading student work preparing course materials tutoring or running study sessions holding virtual office hours and meeting with students moderating discussion boards and responding to student questions.
