Job Description

The PTC is a multidisciplinary team with capabilities in protein engineering cloning expression purification biophysical analysis of proteins and structure determination. Cryoelectron microscopy has enabled us to image and obtain structures at high resolutions. This Scientist position is a benchbased role where the Scientist will purify protein vitrify samples collect data process analyze and build models. The Scientist will manage projects collaborate and contribute to a deeper understanding of biology by analyzing the structures.
Responsibilities:
Cloning expressing and purifying the proteins and their complexes.
Vitrification of biological macromolecules
Processing CryoEM images image analysis and building models
Interpret the structures and write manuscripts based on findings
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Bachelors degree in relevant scientific area is required.
PhD in the area of molecular biology biochemistry protein engineering or any related discipline preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Eight 8 years of relevant work experience is required with a Bachelors degree.
Six 6 years of relevant work experience is required with a Masters degree.
Three 3 years of relevant work experience is required with a PhD.
Preferred Experience:
PhD (with at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience) in structural biology or any related discipline.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
