The Town of Marana is seeking aMaintenance Associate I to work in the Public Works Department. This is a fulltime position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fastpaced environment. The Public Works Department provides services that are vital to our communitys health safety and comfort.
Normal Work Hours: 6:00 4:30 4 days a week with mandatory rotating oncall
Location: 5100 W Ina Road Tucson AZ 85743The Town offers a competitive benefits package:
Hiring Range: $17.87/hr. $21.89/hr.
Salary Range: $17.87/hr. $25.91/hr.- placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience internal equity and/or budget
Examples of Duties
- Transports equipment; sets up traffic control devices
- Operates gannon backhoe kick broom and steal/rubber rollers
- Operates dump truck to haul materials
- Sweeps and maintains rightofway roads by operating street sweeper
- Schedules equipment repairs
- Removes and replaces concrete by operating light equipment; cutting and breaking out damaged concrete; setting forms and presubgrade area; mixing concrete; pouring and finishing concrete
- Removes and replaces asphalt; cuts asphalt; prepares and compacting subgrade installs new asphalt seals roads applies hot sealant and spreads and levels sealant
- Inspects and maintains equipment blue staking
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- 6 months of street construction/maintenance experience or closely related field
- Valid Arizona Driver License
- Must pass a preemployment physical 50pound lift test and a baseline audiogram
- Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
