Job Description
Amazon Corporate Securitys (ACS) mission is to deliver a safe and secure workplace for all Amazonians. The Technology and Tools team within ACS develops implements and maintains the technology and tools that enable other teams within Corporate Security. The Tech and Tools team is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer that can help deliver bestinclass physical security systems to our 1.7MM cardholder customer base.
As ACSs scope continues to grow the Tech and Tools team is seeking the technical expertise that will help build on the current infrastructure and drive development of new solutions that will exceed our customers expectations. As a member of the team overseeing one of the largest Physical Access Control Systems in the world the successful candidate must be comfortable with not only troubleshooting but deep diving to create solutions for issues that no other company has yet faced or solved for.
Key job responsibilities
On a typical day engineers might deep dive to root cause of a customer issue investigate why a metric is trending the wrong way consult with the top engineers at Amazon or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational issues.
The systems engineer can look forward to:
* Investigating new ways to improve operations and defining new solutions to solve technically complex issues.
* Work with the development team to automate manual tasks and on tooling to enhance fleet maintenance
* Investigating issues that impact major services and work to solve them before they impact customers.
* Diving deep into service interdependencies and regionspecific configurations to find the root of a problem.
* Studying and continuously learning from industry recognized engineers.

* Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience.
* 4 years of professional experience of software development or in related occupations (systems administration DevOps engineering site reliability engineering networking/automation software/systems development).
* Experience building scripts tooling and automation using modern programming languages such as: Java C/C C# Objective C Python JavaScript Ruby Powershell Typescript or Go
* Proven track record of success in delivering complex projects.
* Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity prioritizing customer needs and delivering measurable results in a fastpaced environment
* Thorough networking knowledge including DHCP Firewalls and ACL
* Thorough Windows server knowledge including AD Windows Clustering and Server Management.
* AWS SysOps Certification
* Cisco/Meraki certification(s)
* Experience building highlyscalable globallydistributed systems with a high degree of operational excellence
* Clear professional communication skills able to contribute to team discussions knowing when to contribute when to listen and when to ask questions
* Experience using AWS services
* Experience developing new application and system management tools and making enhancements to existing tools to drive automation reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
