Position Summary:
As assistant professor of chemistry this position is responsible for teaching both major and nonmajor courses within the chemistry and biology programs advising directing undergraduate research and conducting committee work as assigned. Area of expertise is open.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 27 hours as assigned annually within the Department of Biological Physical and Human Sciences
- Serve as the academic advisor for departmental majors
- Develop and mentor an undergraduate research team within the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Experience
- Serve on university committees as assigned
- Attend daily Chapel
- Participate in university recruitment activities
- This job description shall include but is not necessarily limited to the above duties. This position may temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.
Requirements:
Masters degree in chemistry or related discipline is required Doctoral degree is preferred. Position rank will be based on degree and experience.
