POSITION SUMMARY: Internship Program Overview Midrexs 2025 Summer Internship Program offers an immersive assignment to undergraduate and graduate students enhancing their understanding of the business world through valuable handson experience with a people centric organization. Midrex offers a 20 hour per week paid internship that begins with an orientation in May and concludes in August.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The internship will consist of a projectbased assignment to broaden learning experience organizational knowledge and business acumen. Potential Areas of Learning:
Assist in the updating of the company Refractory Specifications.
Perform material takeoff checks.
Track and update Action Item Register tasks.
Prepare models and project drawings/revisions to meet requirements.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Required:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (specifically Word Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to learn modern technology software and tools including 3D CAD and analysis software.
Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Ceramics/Material Sciences Engineering Engineering Technology or related field.
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Attend domestic inspection trips with Midrex teammates.
Possibility of a domestic or international trip to visit an operating Midrex plant.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to move around a fabrication shop and an industrial plant site including safely climbing inside and around equipment.
