Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support as a Senior Engineer/Senior Project Engineer to the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) project. Provides technical direction to assigned engineers (day to day direction). Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Primary responsibilities include oversite of Design Engineering staff who provide direct oversite of Architect Engineering (AE) firms preparing new designs and modifications to existing equipment and associated systems for the SRPPF project. As a Senior Engineer/Senior Project Engineer you will be directly responsible for technical schedule and cost performance for the specific AE firms under contract to providing design engineering services to the project. Direct design engineering experience in one or more of the traditional engineering disciplines is required.
Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s 8 hours/day; five days per week) 4/10s 10 hours/day; four days per week) and a 9/80s 9 hours/day five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30minute lunch.
Area Security Access:
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Afterward the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Requirements
Education
BS Degree in Nuclear I&C Electrical Mechanical Chemical Engineering Civil or Structural Engineering is required. An advance degree is preferred.
Experience/Skills
- Previous SRS Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures is preferred.
- Working design experience in a nuclear industry/facility is preferred including familiarity with NQA1 commercial grade dedication.
- Demonstrate 12 or more years experience in the Design Engineering field within the nuclear or industrial industry.
- Demonstrate 5 or more years 10 years preferred) leadership experience in roles providing direct staff oversite.
- Demonstrate experience preparing monitoring and reporting for plans including schedules budgets and personnel requirements associated with solving complex engineering problems and projects.
- Must be able to perform field walkdowns including leading teams to perform equipment trouble shooting and restoration of function and to document asinstalled conditions and to inspect equipment condition.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidiscipline team.
