Job Description
The Department of Surgery at the School of Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans Louisiana is seeking applicants for a Staff Scientist or Staff Scientist Senior. Level of Staff Scientist or Staff Scientist Senior will be determined based on the candidates years of experience. Staff Scientist: Under the broad oversight of a faculty member the Staff Scientist will be expected to perform independent or teambased science research. Incumbent will design organize and conduct highly specialized and advanced experiments using established scientific protocols and procedures and in some cases design new protocols; prepare and submit manuscripts and grant applications and present data in lab meetings seminars and at national scientific meetings; assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory; participate in the training supervision and guidance of junior technicians students and postdoctoral fellows. Staff Scientist Senior: Under the broad oversight of a faculty member the Staff Scientist Senior will be expected to perform independent or team science research.
