Job Description Summary

With minimal supervision performs assembly and test of wind turbine components.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies for wind turbine components including installation adhesive bonding drilling tapping torquing lubricating and wiring
  • Work from engineering drawings work instructions and wiring diagrams
  • Efficiently use calibrated equipment and machinery as part of assembly processes
  • Utilize various hand tools and other standard tools to complete work tasks
  • Utilize the proper chemicals; must be able to understand safety data and shelflife information
  • Accurately inspect the condition of incoming hardware
  • Follow EHS compliance for wind turbine assembly and test
  • Perform complete and accurate quality documentation
  • Assist in implementation of wind turbine documentation and process improvements
  • Initiate and drive process improvements
  • Operate forklift and crane
  • Maintain manual or computerized records
  • Must Adhere to and follow all safety procedures i.e. lockout/tagout report safety concerns use appropriate PPE as required and follow similar safety practices

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must pass background and drug screens
  • Willing and able to work any shift and overtime including weekends
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 33lbs. and push and pull at least 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time up to 95 of the shift with or without reasonable accommodation

Desired Characteristics:

  • Manufacturing/mechanical experience using electrical and pneumatic air hand tools
  • Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical theories
  • Complete and maintain Characteristic Verification Plan (CVP) Certification
  • Proven experience and willingness to be selfdirected and identify improvement processes
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively with others in a team setting
  • Follow and promote safe work practices
  • Communicate effectively with others

The starting rate is $27.25 per hour. In addition the position qualifies for a shift differential of an additional $1.00 per hour.

Shift Details: 2nd shift 4x10 MonThu 3pm1:30am schedule with potential for overtime.
