Job Description

Coveris is a leading European packaging company that manufactures flexible packaging solution for some of the worlds most respected brands. The company develops packaging that protects all types of products from food to pet food from medical devices to industrial and agricultural products.

At present we are looking for an experienced Safety Health and Environment (SHE)Manager (m/w/d) for our newly acquired site Hadepol Flexo who will support our local teamin Rypin Poland. In this role you will be responsible for developing implementing and maintaining safety health and environmental programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all local national and Coveris specific health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits inspections and risk assessments.
  • Develop and implement safety policies procedures and training programs.
  • Investigate workplace incidents accidents and nearmisses and implement corrective actions according to Coveris standards.
  • Lead emergency response planning and conduct drills.
  • Maintain accurate SHE records and prepare reports for management Coveris Group and regulatory bodies.

Environmental Management

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations permits and sustainability goals.
  • Monitor and reduce waste energy consumption and emissions.
  • Implement initiatives to improve recycling pollution control and resource conservation.
  • Lead environmental impact assessments and improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with external agencies on environmental matters.

Training & Employee Engagement

  • Develop and deliver SHE training programs for employees and contractors in accordance to Coveris standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns toolbox talks employee conversations etc..
  • Act as a key point of contact for employee safety concerns and suggestions.
  • Facilitate the SHE committee and engage with employee representatives.
  • Understands and promotes Coveris values.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct risk assessments for machinery tasks materials and work processes.
  • Implement safety improvement projects using best practices in accordance to Coveris standards.
  • Monitor key SHE performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure safe working conditions.

Regulatory & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Liaise with government agencies regulatory bodies and auditors.
  • Stay up to date with new legislation and industry standards.
  • Represent the company in external SHE forums and industry groups.
  • You have successfully completed your business studies with a focus on controlling and/or accounting
  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Environmental Science Engineering or related field.
  • Experiences and good knowledge (certificate) in safety management systems (e.g. NEBOSH OSHA ISO 45001 ISO 14001.
  • Demonstrated experience with SHE management in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SHE regulations risk assessment methodologies and accident investigation.
  • Experience in implementing safety programs and driving culture change.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (oral and written).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problemsolving mindset.
  • Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Proactive and handson approach to safety management.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing 5S or Six Sigma principles.
  • First Aid and Fire Safety certification.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling (COSHH MSDS).
  • High degree of personal responsibility as well as personal development opportunities and space for initiative
