The Clinical Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital are accepting applications for a LOCUM General Obstetrician Gynecologist. The Medicine Hat Regional Hospital (MHRH) is an acute care facility which also includes subacute/restorative care beds serving South East Alberta with a catchment population of 110000. MHRH has 246 acute care beds 30 geriatric beds 10 ICU beds and 7 NICU bassinets. MHRH is an accredited Level 3 Trauma Centre providing coverage in Pediatrics Geriatrics General Surgery Internal Medicine Obstetrics & Gynecology ENT Urology Orthopedics Ophthalmology Plastic Surgery and Cancer services.
The Obstetrics & Gynecology Department provides service to the City of Medicine Hat and surrounding communities. We provide specialized care in all aspects of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Obstetrical services include a Maternal Fetal Assessment clinic which provides high risk care by the obstetricians and a low risk obstetrics program provided by local family physicians. Gynecology services currently being provided include gynecology oncology and REI services.

The locum position is a full scope of practice Obstetrician and Gynecologist supporting the current Obstetrics and Gynecology department which involves deliveries Csections and gynecology surgeries and treatments. There will be a 1:5 call for which a Specialist on Call Stipend is provided.
The successful applicant must have or be eligible for certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must have or be eligible forspecialistregistration for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
