Job Description
This role works closely with the Project Manager and the System Design Authority on a project. As the Project Engineering Lead you will be responsible for successfully delivering engineering activities to time cost and quality. You will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering a defined scope of engineering work.
This role will suit someone with a background in working on complex engineering projects with experience of work package management. Ideally you will have:
- Great communication skills to build strong relationships within the team and with stakeholders
- Experience of managing a team through an engineering development project ideally from requirements elicitation stage through to production
- Experience of defence projects
- Experience of engineering estimation
- Experience of producing engineering plans with dependencies assumptions risk and opportunities identified communicated and managed
- An understanding of the different design gates a project goes through from bid to full scale production readiness review
- An understanding of configuration management and change management
- A background in systems engineering with an understanding of electrical mechanical and software engineering
