Job Description
As part of several openings of ours in Aberdeen Proving Ground MD GovStaff is seeking a midlevel experienced Systems Administrator to serve under a major IT support contract for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC).
Hybrid schedule arrangement with a minimum of two days per week in the APG office after a fulltime onsite rampup period.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree and 7years experience; experience which may include education/specialized training/certifications may be substituted for education.
- Experience in VMWare systems administration including troubleshooting and monitoring
- Experience in resolving complex issues associated with configuration management. resource sharing and basic networking troubleshooting and problem identification.
- Experience in resolving security issues identity management records retention and adhering to destruction policies
- Experience using and writing operating system commands and scripts and scripting languages including one or more of Bash Powershell Python Ruby and/or Perl.
- Experience with performance tuning capacity planning and bottleneck resolution administration of Microsoft Servers building and maintaining highavailability clustered and scalable systems advanced web technologies such as ASP pipeline load balancing etc.; managing production environments using automated install automated build and deployment automated configuration management enterprise monitoring systems server virtualization load balancing web servers and application servers
- Experience managing or working with Windows Server and Linux Operating systems and associated configuration tools is desirable.
- Experience and/or working knowledge of Kubernetes is desirable.
- Experience/exposure to managing and maintaining the cloud infrastructure services and servers (e.g. Azure) is desirable
- Education or certification must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g Computer Science Information Systems Computer or Software Engineering Management Information Systems Computer Forensics/Security etc..
- Must possess current Security (or equivalent DOD Directive 8570.1 IAT II)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Windows Server systems administration including troubleshooting monitoring and support;
- Windows event and performance monitoring; and management of hosted systems software platforms.
- Resolves basic and intermediate issues associated with system configuration management resource sharing and basic networking troubleshooting and problem identification.
- Resolves security issues including identity management records retention and implements destruction policies.
- Uses and write operating system commands and scripts manages disk configurations maintains hardware and software RAID 1N performs migration backup and recovery using scripting languages such as Bash PowerShell Python Ruby and/or Perl.
- May support performance tuning capacity planning and bottleneck resolution administration of Microsoft Servers building and maintaining highavailability clustered and scalable systems and load balancing.
- Manages production environments using automated install automated build and deployment automated configuration management enterprise monitoring systems server virtualization load balancing web servers and application servers.
