Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Code Welder for contract work in Midland TX specializing in welding pressure vessels and storage tanks. This position requires a high level of craftsmanship knowledge of applicable welding codes (e.g. ASME Section IX) and the ability to work safely in fastpaced field environments. Ideal candidates will be familiar with SMAW GTAW and GMAW processes and must be able to pass weld tests to applicable code requirements.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform codecompliant welding on carbon steel and stainless steel pressure vessels and tanks

  • Interpret weld procedures blueprints and isometric drawings

  • Safely operate welding equipment torches and associated tools

  • Maintain quality and dimensional accuracy according to specifications

  • Perform weld repairs fitup and fabrication as needed

  • Follow all site safety protocols and PPE requirements

  • Work independently or as part of a crew under direction from site supervisors or project managers


Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years of experience welding on vessels and tanks

  • Proficient in SMAW GTAW and GMAW processes

  • Must be able to pass weld tests in accordance with ASME Section IX or API 650/653

  • Current welding certifications preferred; must be able to recertify if required

  • Familiarity with API ASME and NDT standards

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions inside of vessels and tanks climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must have reliable transportation and own welding gear
