Job Summary

The Lead Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team that provides direct care to behavioral health patients as well as oversight and support to the PCTs assigned to their shift. The Lead PCT coordinates with the Registered Nurses (RN) Patient Care Technicians (PCT) and Behavioral Health Medical Practitioners (BHMP) to ensure a safe environment and quality care is provided to all presenting for services. The Lead PCT is also responsible for the safety and operational effectiveness of the unit they are assigned to including identifying environmental and patient specific safety concerns directing staff during nonviolent physical interventions and seclusion and restraint episodes and providing direct patient care when needed. The Lead PCT is expected to have full knowledge of program policy and procedures.

Skills/Requirements

• Highschool diploma or GED and either: * 18 credit hours of posthigh school education in a field related to behavioral health and two years of fulltime behavioral health work experience; or
• Four years of fulltime behavioral health work experience or
• Has an associates degree and at least two years of fulltime behavioral health work experience; or
• Has a bachelors degree in a field other than behavioral health and at least one year of fulltime behavioral health work experience; or
• Has a masters degree or bachelors degree in a field related to behavioral health; or
• Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders preferred.
