About the Role

EV Cargo is seeking an experienced and motivated Ocean Freight Operator to join our team in Ipswich. This is an exciting opportunity to manage import shipments from booking through to final delivery ensuring outstanding customer service and operational excellence throughout the process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding and import logistics with the ability to handle cradletograve shipment files. This role requires a proactive and detailoriented individual who thrives in a dynamic fastpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage import ocean freight shipments from initial booking through to delivery and file closure.

• Complete import customs declarations and manage customs documentation including Port Health checks.

• Organise and liaise with clients for haulage requirements.

• Raise client invoices and accurately set costs.

• Communicate professionally with overseas partners clients and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues.

• Ensure queries are handled promptly and efficiently.

• Obtain shipment and compliance data from supplier websites.

• Maintain internal deadlines and support operational targets.

• Work collaboratively within a team environment to meet department goals.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in ocean freight operations particularly import management.

• Familiarity with customs declarations and documentation procedures.

• Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills.

• Strong relationshipbuilding skills with both clients and colleagues.

• Able to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fastmoving environment.

• Selfmotivated with a proactive approach to problemsolving.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Word.

• Cargowise experience is highly desirable.
