The job of a Worksite Learning Coordinator is to facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum and initiatives including (but not limited to) Worksite Learning High School & Beyond Plans and valuable Career Related Learning Experiences. The Worksite Learning Coordinator is responsible for documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students while providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations goals etc. The Worksite Learning Coordinator must be well versed in WA State worksite learning legal & compliance aspects of worksite learning programs including but not limited to student orientation documentation of student work hours and other required paperwork business relationships and site visits student learning plan/goals dual credit knowledge teaching compliance and registration processes etc. as well as the High School & Beyond Plan and its relation to a students worksite learning experience. They must be able to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with community businesspersons as well as district staff students and parents. Essential Functions

Teach district approved course goals and objectives at various grade levels.

  • Evaluations of the individual student and the appropriate reporting of student progress.
  • Teach students citizenship job readiness and subject matter skills specified by state law and administrative regulations of the school district related to the most recent worksite learning manual the High School & Beyond Plan etc.
  • Responsible for teaching and learning that includes but is not limited to classroom instruction lesson development data and report management/retention etc.
  • Provide individual and group instruction so that each pupil can achieve academic and educational goals.
  • Identify student needs and cooperate with businesses in a professional manner to assess and help students solve a variety of issues and achieve success.
  • Participate cooperatively with the businesses to administer an appropriate evaluation of student progress.
  • Develop and implement instructional materials suitable for students to access dual credit opportunities.
  • Subscribe to the notion student success is a teachers paramount responsibility.
  • Consults with and serves as liaison for parents/guardians teachers and other school/family/district/outside personnel to support student performance encourage academic challenge and promote rigorous plans of study for their caseload of students.
  • Nurtures a school environment that celebrates respects and values diversity where teaching and learning are made relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures.
  • Facilitates and coordinates educational and career planning to assist students and their parents/guardians with transitions in the K12 schooling process.
  • Composes a wide variety of materials for the purpose of documenting activities providing written reference and/or conveying information (i.e 504 plans WSL onboarding and orientations etc)
  • Develop positive and respectful professional relationships with business partners and provide site visits to ensure pupils success within the workplace.
  • Maintain records and submit reports as required or appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Functions

  • Works collaboratively with businesses to counsel students parents and guardians for the purpose of enhancing student success in school.
  • Research program eligibility requirements for the purpose of providing uptodate accurate counsel to students.
  • Schedule student classes for the purpose of securing appropriate placement and meeting their graduation and college eligibility requirements.
  • Conduct effective WSL orientation presentations and manage student behavior prior to worksite placement.
  • Evaluate student eligibility; assist in registering students for Worksite Learning.
  • Track student progress.
  • Maintain safe and healthy conditions in the learning environment and report promptly to principal any serious accident or illness affecting students.
  • Maintains complex and confidential electronic and physical files and records for individual and department use for the purpose of providing uptodate reference and in compliance with records retention guidelines.
  • Participate in district and regional Worksite Learning activities/committees.
  • Commit to continued professional development.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform single technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: controlling and motivating students; build and maintain appropriate professional relationships with local businesses maintaining accurate records; and using pertinent software applications (Google Suite Microsoft Suite Qmlativ SDS etc); adhering to safety practices; operating standard office equipment.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform some math operations; read a variety of manuals write documents created on own as well as following prescribed formats and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: knowledge of state and federal laws that govern school districts age appropriate activities stages of child development and safety practices and procedures. This includes holding a Washington State Worksite Learning Certification.

ABILITY is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; gather collate and/or classify data; and use basic jobrelated equipment. Flexibility is required to work independently or with others in a wide variety of circumstances; to work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and to operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; to work with similar types of data; and to utilize specific jobrelated equipment. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Worksite Learning Coordinator; fostering positive relationships (with individuals and businesses in and outside of the WSD); communicating with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; and working with frequent interruptions. This position may require the employee to transport students so annual van/transportation training is required.

Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; regularly visiting business/job sites to evaluate student progress directing other persons within a small work unit; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. There is a continual opportunity to significantly impact the organizations services.

Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: Generally the job requires 10 sitting 50 walking and 40 standing. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Experience: Job related experience is desired.Education: Masters degree in job related area
