Job Description

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Installs access control devices adapting current keying systems and protocols within the parameters of existing University resource protection policies. Installs or assists with overseeing the installation integration programming and repair of electronic access controls including proximity card and swipe card hardware. Interprets Master Keying Guide; use appropriate discretion and special knowledge of lock systems to preserve the integrity of the Universitys master key system while meeting customer needs. Inputs and retrieves data in a prescribed format utilizing knowledge of various computer software packages. Troubleshoots repairs and maintains mechanical locks and electronic key card systems. Installs door hardware and hydraulic closing fixtures. Rekeys locks cuts and issues keys as requested. Documents facilities maintenance requirements maintains appropriate records of work performed. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. A valid California Driver License is required.
