Job Description

Job Summary:

The Native American Community Clinic (NACC) is seeking a Dentist to join our team and lead our growing dental department. The right candidate will be committed to delivering highquality culturally competent dental care that makes a meaningful and measurable difference in addressing oral health disparities within the community we serve. In this role you will play a pivotal role in maximizing NACCs impact on oral health through leadership program development and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose and treat diseases and other conditions of the oral cavity.
  2. Examine hard and soft tissues of oral cavity and surrounding structures for disease and other abnormalities.
  3. Perform xray procedures and interpret xrays.
  4. Chart patients oral condition and based on their diagnosis devise treatment plan.
  5. Administer prescribed controlled nitrous oxide analgesia and local anesthesia.
  6. Perform operative endodontic fixed and removable prosthetic and oral surgery procedures.
  7. May perform periodontal surgery oral biopsies and limited orthodontic treatment.
  8. Provide skilled dental treatment in a time effective manner so that patient will receive comprehensive dental care
  9. Working with EDR system to quickly and efficiently enter and retrieve data.
  10. Chart complete and detailed services on all clients at the time of service so that records are kept accurate legible and complete.
  11. Serve as adjunct faculty for UMN school of dentistry to oversee dental students.
  12. Follow established policies and procedures for dental practice to comply with the Quality Improvement Minimum Standards set by the (ADD IN YOUR AGENCIES)
  13. Participate in quarterly peer review audits.
  14. Establish consulting relationships with dental specialists so that clients receive the benefits of services not provided by the clinic.
  15. Provide dental education to clients or community groups as requested.
  16. Attend and participate in staff meetings and committees.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor ofDentalSurgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree and a validdentallicense in the state of Minnesota.
  • Current Registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural competency and providing care to underserved communities.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
