Position: Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
Reports to: Department Manager
FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is responsible for assisting physicians with minimally invasive imageguided procedures. The IR Tech operates specialized radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ensuring patient safety comfort and optimal image quality throughout. This role requires strong technical skills attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in highpressure situations.
Job Functions
Assist physicians during interventional procedures such as angiography stent placement embolization biopsies and drain placements.
Prepare and maintain sterile procedure rooms and trays.
Ensure proper positioning of patients and equipment to produce highquality diagnostic images.
Operate and monitor fluoroscopy CT and ultrasound equipment as required.
Adhere to radiation safety practices to protect patients staff and self.
Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Ensure accurate patient positioning image quality and adherence to radiation safety protocols.
Develop and process images and ensure they are properly labeled and filed.
Monitor patients during examinations ensuring their safety and following protocols to prevent radiation exposure.
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment and report issues as needed.
Document procedures accurately and maintain proper patient records.
Maintain the inventory of supplies and equipment and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
Collaborate with radiologists and other medical professionals for timely interpretation of images.
Adhere to HIPAA OSHA and all applicable regulatory and ethical standards.
Communicate effectively with patients families and the healthcare team.
Work as part of a healthcare team coordinating with radiologists and other staff.

Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience:
Microsoft Office suite
Basic computer hardware & network troubleshooting techniques
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
Ability to multitask between projects
Strong knowledge of sterile technique imaging equipment and vascular anatomy
Required:
2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) including experience with peripheral and neurovascular.
3 months Scrub experience.
Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Must hold a valid state license (e.g. Kansas State Board of Healing Arts) or be willing to apply for license upon offer of employment.
CPR certification required (BLS from the American Heart Association preferred)
Must be able to stand for long periods and assist in patient movement
Exposure to radiation bodily fluids and sharp instruments (PPE provided)
Oncall weekend or holiday shifts may be required depending on department needs
Preferred:
Three years of IR large hospital experience; Siemens or Epic experience.
1 years of experience in diagnostic radiology
Prior experience in interventional radiology or catheterization lab strongly
Experience in scrubbing in with IR physicians for complex procedures such as thrombectomies pulmonary embolism interventions and uterine fibroid embolizations (UFE) and Y90.
