JOB SUMMARY:
Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Data Governance Lead to join our team and support a Federal Agency project centered around Data Management and Analytics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and overseeing data governance frameworks ensuring compliance with federal data security standards and promoting best practices in data management across the federal agencies. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong background in data governance compliance and regulatory frameworks to enhance the quality and integrity of data across the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development and implementation of the agency s data governance framework ensuring adherence to policies and compliance with relevant regulations.
Establish and enforce data cataloging metadata management and data privacy strategies to ensure data integrity and usability.
Collaborate with the agencies to promote data standardization and access policies facilitating effective data stewardship across the organization.
Monitor compliance with NIST 80053 FedRAMP and cybersecurity standards to protect sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance.
Engage with stakeholders to identify data governance challenges and propose strategic solutions that enhance data management processes.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate staff on data governance principles policies and best practices.
Develop and maintain documentation for data governance processes policies and procedures to ensure knowledge continuity and accessibility.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support data quality assessment initiatives and promote a culture of datadriven decisionmaking.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in data governance in a public sector or federal government setting focused on compliance and/or regulatory frameworks.
Proven track record of developing and implementing data governance frameworks and policies.
Strong understanding of data security compliance standards and data stewardship best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively under pressure.
Familiarity with data cataloging tools (e.g. Collibra Informatica Alation) and their practical applications in governance initiatives is preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor s degree in Information Management Data Science Business Administration or a related field.
