Job Description

Senior Manager Audit & Advisory

Based in either Toronto or Waterloo this opportunity within the insurance industry offers the chance to lead meaningful audit and advisory initiatives that directly impact risk management and governance. The role is part of a dynamic team that delivers independent highquality and costeffective assurance services across various business portfolios. Working on a project basis the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic objectives through a robust evaluation of internal controls all within a collaborative and professional environment.

What is in it for you:

Salaried: $50 to $53 per hour.
Incorporated Business Rate: $60 to $63 per hour.
16month contract.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
Hybrid work: 3 office days from Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities:

Lead and execute audits and consulting engagements in alignment with departmental methodologies timelines and budget constraints.
Assess business risks and develop audit scopes and programs to evaluate the effectiveness of controls in place.
Conduct review and document audit testing to meet defined objectives and standards.
Complete fieldwork within set deadlines and contribute to timely project completion.
Prepare clear wellorganized audit reports including executive summaries and risk assessments.
Lead and oversee SOX compliance processes including planning walkthroughs and testing phases.
Coach and support junior audit staff throughout engagement cycles.
Apply critical thinking and incorporate data analytics to improve audit efficiency and coverage.

What you will need to succeed:

University degree required.
6 to 8 years of experience in audit risk management or a related business/advisory consulting field.
Strong knowledge of audit standards methodologies regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
Recognized accounting or audit designation preferred (CPA CA CIA CISA) though not mandatory with strong industry experience.
Demonstrated experience in internal audit within the insurance or financial services sector is highly desirable.
Proven ability to work independently lead assignments and manage priorities within a collaborative environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
Familiarity with data analysis tools considered an asset.
Demonstrated high performance initiative and strong professional judgment.
Comfortable with a hybrid work model including consistent inoffice presence.
