Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Location: Marshall and Kilgore TX

Service Setting: Hospital

Coverage Type: Clinical Only

Coverage Period: July 1 2025 Ongoing 1year assignment)

Clinical Shift Schedule: Varies by day; multiple shifts including 7a 4p 1p 9p 9p 7a 7a 3p 2p 10p 7a 7p and 7p 7a

COVERAGE DATES

Start Date: July 1 2025

Assignment Length: 1 year

Minimum Shifts: 5 shifts per week

PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics

Patient Volume/Census: 65 patients/day (approx. 24000 annually)

Admissions: 10

Case Mix: Emergency Medicine

EMS Percentage: 18.3

FACILITY INFORMATION

No. of Beds in Department: 15 ED beds 2 fast track

EMR System: Epic

Specialty Backup Available: Ortho GI Telenephrology Teleneuro Telepsych

Support Staff Available: Average of 25.86 MD hours/day and 11.29 NP/PA hours/day

Reason for Coverage: Coverage for 8 fulltime physician needs across the system

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (approx. 60 day timeframe even with temps)

Credentialing Timeline: 90 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Rate: TBD

Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

Immunizations: Flu required (waiver accepted)

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

General emergency procedures as per EM standards

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active TX license required

Board: ABEM FM IM Kilgore; ABEM only Marshall

Experience: EM residencytrained required

Other Qualifications: EPIC experience preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide fullscope emergency care in a busy hospital setting

Work rotating shifts according to staffing model

Collaborate with MDs and advanced practice providers

Participate in onboarding including orientation and EPIC EMR training

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
