This position is for the morning and afternoon route. If interested in just morning or afternoon this is an option.
Position Overview: As a special education bus paraeducator you have the opportunity to make a positive impact on our students. Your daily greetings and assistance will help to set the tone for their school day and ensure they are safely transported to and from school. You will be a positive and supportive assistant helping drivers by establishing an appropriate and welcoming climate on the bus.
You should consider that this position requires you to believe that every student deserves the resources and support required to help them learn. In addition you should believe that students have a right to inclusion equity and accessibility and for that belief to be evident in your work on the bus.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate stand move and walk at a brisk pace sit and use both hands and arms to handle feel and reach. The position requires the ability to accompany students anywhere on school premises. The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Additionally the employee must be physically able to implement all training and techniques. The employee must be physically able to react and intervene quickly during a crisis situations such as but not limited to the following circumstances: student elopement physical altercations involving students or any situation that requires physical intervention to maintain student safety.
