Job Description

Title:Primary Collaborative Teacher (KindergartenGrade 4)Division:Lower SchoolPosition:Full time 40 hr. position MF 8:05 a.m.4:05 :Salary commensurate with that of a teacher assistantReports To:Head of Lower SchoolSummary:The Primary Collaborative Teacher works alongside the lead teachers in the assigned grade level to enhance student learning and ensure that gradelevel expectations are met. This assistant role involves actively collaborating with the teaching team to monitor student progress provide individualized support and facilitate both small group and whole class instruction. The position focuses on meeting the unique needs of each student through thoughtful instructional strategies and close collaboration with the gradelevel team to create an inclusive supportive learning :Commitment to the schools character virtues mission and professional standardsBachelors degree in education and teaching certificationMinimum of two years experience teaching children preferredDesire and initiative to support the curriculum differentiation for students to meet program expectationsSkill and comfort facilitating aimswebPlus and progress monitoring platforms to determine student needsConfidence and flexibility to work collaboratively with a diverse group of constituenciesPrimary (elementary) grade teaching experienceUnderstanding of highquality instruction including science of readingDuties and Responsibilities:CoordinatingSupport the administration of grade level benchmarking assessments and progress monitoringPlan and implement intervention and enrichment for students who are above and below benchmarkProvide support for the adherence of student accommodation and action plansObserve and note students progress or behaviors that will assist the lead teacher and student in meeting goals and expectationsParticipate in opening and closing meetings team planning sessions and other meetings as advised by administrationAdhere to CCDS Professional Expectations and Character VirtuesRead and edit student progress reports for accuracy and consistency as a support to lead teachersFacilitate Learning LabTeamwork PlanningEstablish and maintain open communication with lead teaching teamWork in collaboration with lead teachers to provide innovative learning opportunitiesBe knowledgeable and prepared to teach the class in the absence of the lead teacherCommunicate initiatives updates and progress via data observations and work samples to lead teachers support services and division head as Safety Care GuidanceBe familiar with and adhere to the divisions and schools policies and proceduresEnsure the safety of children and environmentHelp with the care and supervision of students during conference daysProvide positive guidance to help children develop the ability to be selfdisciplined and achieve goalsSupport students during lunch and recess timesSupport other duties as assigned by the head of Lower SchoolInterested candidates should email a cover letter and resume to Mark Morawski head of Lower School Cincinnati Country Day School does not discriminate on the basis of race color creed sex gender identity sexual orientation disability age 40 or over) national origin ancestry or military service/veterans status in the administration of its educational programs and policies admission decisions tuition aid programs employment practices and benefits athletics or other schooladministered programs.
