Position: Anticipated Opening Fitness InstructorLocation: Community EducationThis will be a Seasonal nonbenefited position running July 7thAugust 8th. The weekly hours will vary based on the needs of the program. Program hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ability to work morning and afternoon shifts will be required. Job Description: We are looking for a parttime Fitness Instructor for a leadership position in the area of indoor and outdoor recreation during the full day summer program. Job Goal: To assist in providing an enriching exciting and fun summer experience to the children enrolled in our Chelmsford Community Education Summer Programs ensuring all participants have a memorable time during any activities provided. Candidates must be willing to meet with Summerfest Supervisor prior to summer to develop a basic fun and educational themebased plan with a focus on their area of activities. During the Summer candidates must implement plans and be able to adapt planned activities based upon the childrens age abilities and interest level. Candidates must also be willing to inform Supervisors of damaged or needed equipment be willing to help oversee Supportive Staff Members in their area able to offer positive reinforcement to all children maintain a positive attitude as well as a professional demeanor and perform other duties as assigned. The candidate should have the ability to work in a fastpaced environment and have a flexible mindset allowing them to adapt to sudden changes in plans (for example rainy days in house visitors occasional changes to schedule)The Summerfest Fitness Instructor Responsibilities:Candidates must be willing to maintain fitness equipment and store equipment in a designated area. Oversee and facilitate the inventory and ordering of all to adapt planned activities from the field to the indoor rec room based upon the a RainyDay Resource for the Movement be able to run ageappropriate recreational activities and oversee and guide support and set up/take down of indoor and outdoor the water supply in the cooler for the field/ Supervisors of damaged or needed to work on their feet in all weather to work morning or afternoon shift. Willingness to work for at least 4 MondayFriday part time weeks out of the 5 weeks of operation. There will be additional hours available for planning setup and breakdown of Summerfest.
