Officially completed in February of 2019 this EC spans across 125000 square feet with 135 mostly private rooms. This brandnew space has the stateoftheart equipment radiology suites pharmacy and respiratory support within the department. As one of the busiest ECs in the nation and as a Level I Trauma Center/Level II Pediatric EC you will be exposed to some amazing learning opportunities.
We have a sharedgovernance model and we encourage the frontline staff to get involved and participate in the daytoday decisions and changes within the department.

Scope of work
Under supervision of the professional registered nurse and in accordance with competencies established supports the provision of nursing care by performing patient care tasks as delegated within the Emergency Department. Performs routine bedside nursing activities including ambulating moving and turning patients assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices making patient beds. Responsible for bagging and labeling all patient belongings and completing the patient property record on all admitted patients. Performs higher level of patient care tasks as prescribed by established competencies and as delegated by the supervising professional Registered Nurse in accordance with departmental policies and procedures which includes starting saline locks simple suture removal (excluding face or complex lacerations) splinting phlebotomy which includes (children draws over the age of 2 vital sign measurement records intake and output and restraint application.

Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent
Requires a minimum six months exhibited performance as a nursing assistant or other inpatient care giver experience paramedic EMT urgent care caregiver experience a Nursing Student (preferred completion of a Medical Surgical rotation) or EMT/Paramedic student or program graduate.
BLS required
Requires successful completion of established competencies by the Emergency Department Leadership and Emergency Department Education Specialist.
EMT license preferred.
