Going strong since 1974 CASE is an educational collaborative agency made up of 11 regional and municipal districts affording member and nonmember school districts the opportunity to augment local services by planning developing and implementing programs for students with special JOB! ELIGIBLE EMPLOYER FOR LOAN FORGIVENESS!HEALTH INSURANCE ON DAY ONE!Job Overview: Provide occupational therapy services to eligible students and consultation to parents/guardians and teachers for the facilitation of students independent performance of schoolrelated tasks which are compromised by impaired fine motor sensory motor visual perceptual and/or sensory integration skills. Reports to:Program Administrator Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direct individual and small group therapy to students identified as eligible for occupational therapy services.
  2. Assess and maintain data on progress of all students on caseload and differentiate student goals and instruction accordingly.
  3. Select appropriate therapy programs and methodologies plan and implement therapy that matches students IEP goals and objectives.
  4. Complete evaluation reports including determining and administering appropriate standardized and nonstandardized assessments and present reports at Team meetings.
  5. Develop implement and maintain schedules for students services in accordance with their IEPs service delivery.
  6. Complete progress reports for all caseload students according to the schedule set by host school Collaborative and special education regulations.
  7. Serve as an effective consultant with parents/guardians general education teachers special educators and teaching assistants regarding students motor and sensory needs and carryover/generalization of related skills.
  8. Develop and implement appropriate occupational therapy classroom accommodations modifications sensory diets and assistive technology relevant to students needs.
  9. Maintain and use adaptive equipment and materials.
  10. Participate in Team reevaluation and annual review meetings for students on caseload and write occupational therapy components including goals for eligible students IEPs.
  11. Serve as a contact to private occupational therapists and specialists when appropriate.
  12. Provide communication to parents/guardians of students on caseload (e.g. parentteacher conferences email telephone contact).
  13. Complete budget requests for the Collaborative budget; order necessary materials for instruction and assessment.
  14. Given training by a Registered Nurse and/or training videos the occupational therapist will use an EpiPen and/or Vagal Nerve Stimulator with the student for whom they were prescribed.
  15. Attend Collaborativewide and specific program staff meetings as scheduled by the Program Administrator and/or Executive Director.
  16. Participate in host school Open House for parents/guardians staff meetings and professional development opportunities as appropriate.
  17. Maintain the high level of confidentiality and professionalism expected of all faculty.
  18. Keep abreast of the latest trends materials research and best practices related to occupational therapy.
  19. Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities to increase knowledge base and skills and to maintain licensure.
  20. Perform other related tasks or duties at the discretion of the Program Administrator and/or Executive Director.
  21. Occasional transport of student(s) in Collaborative van.Physical Demands:
    • Use of hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls see (including close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus) hear and speak; (i.e. computer calculator telephone).
    • Requires good physical condition in order to support lifting positioning and transitioning students as needed according to caseload/classroom assignment. Demands of lifting may be up to 50 pounds.
    • Requires good physical condition in order to implement physical interventions escorts and restraints according to the collaborative policies protocols and special education regulations with students as needed and according to caseload/classroom assignment.
