Job Description

Purpose: This nonunion fulltime schoolyear position collaborates with our guidance office to reduce barriers to educational access. The Director will provide the link between GMUHS teachers students parents and community organizations regarding established resources programs services and activities. The Director will build trusting relationships with families who have historically struggled to feel safe and effective when interacting with public : Applicants must possess a Bachelors Degree and have experience working with youth and community partners. People with experience working with students and parents in a school setting will be given priority. Responsibilities:
  • Overall Management of the wellness center.
  • Identify and examine trends in wellness center use.
  • Help students identify appropriate coping strategies for managing emotions.
  • Track and analyze student attendance data.
  • Refer students and families to school and community support.
  • Provide outreach to students and families having difficulty attending school.
  • Work with faculty and staff to identify and support students in organizational skills and attention to details. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to engage atrisk students and families.
  • Working knowledge of available area services and resources and referral process.
  • Understanding of the impact of trauma on families and children.
  • Comfort using online platforms such as Google Docs PowerSchool Canva and others.
  • Knowledge of the local and surrounding communities and their resources.
  • Understanding adolescent development and the ability to work with students is necessary.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with program : Commensurate with experience.
