The Academic Simulation Specialist:
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with academic institutions to support clinical placements residency programs and workforce pipeline development.
- Manage affiliation agreements with academic partners ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and best practices.
- Oversee and coordinate student clinical rotations providing a structured and supportive learning environment for emerging clinicians.
- Facilitate educational presentations and academic collaborations to promote hospice palliative care and nonacute care as a career pathway.
- Act as a liaison for academic research initiatives assisting in the coordination of scholarly projects workforce research and evidencebased practice improvements.
- Lead didactic and simulationbased learning experiences ensuring alignment with program curriculum and adult learning principles.
- Employs principles of adult learning theory and Promoting Excellence in Reflective Learning in Simulation (PEARLS) to foster development of colleagues.
- Develop implement and continually refine simulation scenarios to enhance clinical competency decisionmaking and critical thinking in nurse residents.
- Provide mentorship and direct support to clinical coaches ensuring nurse residents receive structured guidance and feedback throughout their residency.
- Collaborate with site leadership to establish and maintain clear expectations for nurse resident performance and professional development.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of the nurse residency curriculum ensuring alignment with best practices accreditation requirements and program sustainability.
- Assist in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts analyzing data to assess nurse retention competency development and workforce impact.
- Track key program metrics and performance indicators providing insight into the effectiveness of academic partnerships and residency outcomes.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and evidencebased nursing practice by integrating the latest research and industry standards into curriculum and clinical education.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in hospice care.
- Experience in nursing education nursing academia simulation and research.
- An equivalent combination of professional experience and education may be considered as meeting the Education/Professional requirements.
