Department/Unit Summary
Our community is growing and thriving. To better serve our communities growth SOVAH Danville Emergency Department is currently under a complete renovation to better serve our patients. The new Emergency Department will be a 31bed unit with a 4:1 ratio for acute patients with designated behavioral health safe rooms. Our Emergency Department provides care to patients across the lifespan for all medical emergencies. We are a designated Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center. We are an academic teaching site for residents medical students nurses nurse practitioners pharmacists and physician assistants. The Registered nurse acts a leader in the healthcare system at SOVAH Danville by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with patients and their support systems collaborating with physicians and other team members to provide optimal patient care utilizing evidencebased practice in care and providing compassion in care for our patients. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility accountability and authority for provision and management of care with accordance with current policies and procedures.

Applicants should have a current VA (or Multistate) RN license and possess a nursing degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelors degree preferred). Additional requirements include:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support
American Heart Association ACLS within 90 days of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification
Emergency Nurse Association (ENPC) required or within six 6 months of hire
Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Association preferred
Minimum of one 1 year of RN clinical experience in an emergency department required.
Minimum two 2 years supervisory/management or Charge Nurse experience preferably in a patient care setting required.
