Required Education:
High School Graduate or GED with previous Phlebotomy training and experience
Required Certification:
Phlebotomy certification is preferred
BLS is required within 30 days of hire
Other:
Must have training commensurate with phlebotomy certification approved by Lab Director or Assistant Lab Director
Six 6 months phlebotomy experience in the health care field is preferred.

Position Summary:
Working under the guidance of the Medical Director and Laboratory Technologists/Technicians the Lab Assistant performs specimen collection and specimen processing. To prepare clinical specimens for chemistry and bacteriological analysis and perform CLIA waived testing. To perform related work as required.
