Description
RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our clients team in Pietermaritzburg. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to take on the responsibility of servicing maintaining and repairing dieselpowered vehicles and equipment with a strong focus on heavyduty and earthmoving machinery. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair work on diesel engines and related systems
- Diagnose faults in engines transmissions brakes and hydraulic systems
- Conduct thorough inspections and preventative maintenance on heavyduty and earthmoving equipment
- Repair or replace faulty parts and components
- Maintain service records and complete job cards accurately
- Adhere to safety procedures and ensure compliance with company standards
- Order necessary parts and materials for repair tasks
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or diploma in Diesel Mechanics or a related field
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic particularly on heavyduty or earthmoving equipment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical and hydraulic systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Welding and fabricating experience will be advantageous
- Red Seal certification is a strong advantage
- Must come from the construction industry
