Job Description

This is a fulltime role with work hours of 9 am to 6 pm with a onehour unpaid lunch. Once training and onboarding are complete there may be flexibility to work from home 12 day a week.
The salary for this position starts at $63000 a year.
Who You Are
- You have 24 years of experience in accounting or financial services preferably in nonprofit or grantfunded organizations.
- You hold a Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related fieldor have equivalent experience.
- You understand GAAP principles including revenue recognition and fund accounting and are confident working with restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Youre experienced in preparing invoices reviewing contracts and budgets and ensuring grant compliance.
- Youre skilled in Excel and accounting systems (experience with Sage Intacct is a plus).
- You possess a valid Oregon or Washington drivers license and can be insured under NAYAs liability policy.
- You have lived or professional experience working with diverse populations particularly within Native American communities.
- You thrive in a teamoriented workplace are adaptable and are willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in even when its not your job.
- You possess strong communication skills engaging effectively with diverse groups and adapting to varied contexts.
- You demonstrate selfawareness listening deeply centering others and taking accountability for your actions.
- You are consistently punctual reliable and dependable in support of your team and clients.
- You are proficient in computer skills including webbased research word processing and email.
What Youll Do
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly invoices for grant funds maintaining all necessary supporting documentation.
- Track and reconcile funder receivables monitor income and expense accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Review grant agreements and budgets to ensure expenses are allowable and properly coded.
- Work with program managers to monitor budgets and expenditures.
- Support monthly journal entries contract setup audit preparation and budget development.
- Identify opportunities to improve tracking reporting and financial systems.
- Stay informed of changes to accounting standards and grant regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Represent NAYA professionally in community partnerships meetings and advocacy efforts.
