Summary
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team at Yelp enables our employees to keep our data safe while delivering value to millions of users around the world. Our team is responsible for building maintaining and extending secure reliable and highavailable systems which power centralized authentication authorization access management and leastprivileging across all of Yelps internal systems. With a blend of software engineering and security our fullstack projects span diverse areas including threat modeling system analysis and development of robust security systems using both backend and frontend technologies.
Were looking for a Software Engineer with expertise in the identity management and security spaces to join Yelps Identity and Access Management team. In this role you will collaborate with teams across Yelp to work on interesting technical challenges design and implement next generation access management authorization authentication and compliance solutions to empower Yelp employees to do their job better faster and safer with minimum access.
This opportunity is fully remote and does not require you to be located in any particular area in Canada. We welcome applicants from throughout Canada. What youll do:
- Design and implement secure robust highly available and scalable solutions to manage and optimize the workforces identity and access lifecycle.
- Develop and enforce access control policies by designing building and deploying authentication and authorization mechanisms within our ServiceOriented Architecture.
- Collaborate with teams across Yelp to assess IAM risks define remediation strategies and drive access improvements supporting the Principle of Least Privilege.
- Create models to systematically identify overprovisioned permissions and recommend enhancements to strengthen our leastprivilege posture.
- Automate governance controls and improve the efficiency of compliance processes.
- Participate in oncall rotation and incident response as needed.
What it takes to succeed:
- An understanding of and background in IAM processes access management lifecycles role engineering single signon and associated best practices.
- Ideally 3 years of experience in software engineering developing fullstack complex and distributed applications.
- A strong understanding of designing elegant wellstructured APIs.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python Java JavaScript C etc..
- BS or MS in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problemsolving continuous learning and knowledge sharing across teams.
