    Per Diem Inventory Control Clerk

    (Pending availability of funds and Board of Education approval)

    The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position ofPer Diem Inventory Control Clerk
    within the Office of Mail and Reproduction.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    1. Graduation from High School or Vocational School or possession of an approved High School Equivalent Certificate.
    2. One 1 year of experience in preparing maintaining and editing inventory control records.
    3. Minimum of two 2 years of experience scanning sorting and delivering mail in a large organization/educational setting preferred.
    4. Appointees will be required to possess a drivers license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle rather than employee mobility is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
    BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Maintains numerical and alphabetical coding of stocked materials.
    2. Compiles electronic records concerned with ordering receiving storing and issuing materials equipment and supplies.
    3. Posts information in ledgers or other records from requisitions purchase order receipts shipping papers or other documents.
    4. Compiles information on receipt and distribution of goods and computes inventory balance.
    5. Prepares reports of inventory balance depleted items and shortages and prepares purchase requisitions.
    6. Prepares usage and spending reports identifying findings analysis trends and recommendations.
    7. Identifies trends and stocks goods accordingly.
    8. May substitute inventoried stock for requested items.
    9. Based on inventory records makes recommendations on stock levels to be maintained replenishment needs or disposition of excess stock.
    10. Contacts vendors to expedite deliveries.
    11. Compares corrects and updates nomenclature and specifications on requisitions.
    12. Maintains records of disposition of all invoices receipts and requisitions received.
    13. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronics and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency office or related units.
    14. Does routine work concerned with receipt sorting and distributing of interoffice and US mail.
    15. Performs routine work involved with receipt date stamping and intradepartmental distribution of incoming letter/packages.
    16. Ensure that proper signatures are obtained where necessary.
    17. Does routine work concerned with folding inserting sealing and labeling operations.
    18. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency office or related units.

    KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITES
    1. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel Access and PowerPoint preferred).
    2. Knowledge of record keeping methods and procedures.
    3. Knowledge of arithmetical computations.
    4. Ability to understand remember and carry out oral and written directions.
    5. Ability to prepare statistical and other reports.
    6. Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency office related units.
    7. Ability to read write speak understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
