ROLE DETAIL
Position Title:
Forklift Reach Driver
JOB OBJECTIVE
A Forklift Truck Driver also known as a Reach Forklift Operator or Reach Truck Operator is a skilled operator who operates reach trucks to move stack and retrieve goods within a warehouse or distribution centre. They play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials and products in a warehouse environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate reach trucks to transport goods pallets and materials within warehouse aisles racks and storage areas using controls and attachments to lift lower and position loads with precision and care.
- Load and unload trucks trailers and storage racks with palletized goods using reach trucks and pallet jacks to move and position loads safely and securely following loading and unloading procedures and safety protocols.
- Stack and store pallets crates and containers in designated storage locations including floor stacks racks and shelving systems ensuring proper weight distribution stability and accessibility of stored items.
- Pick stage and prepare orders for shipment or distribution retrieving products from storage locations verifying quantities and specifications and assembling orders onto pallets or containers for loading onto trucks.
- Perform inventory counts stock checks and cycle counts using handheld scanners or inventory management systems updating inventory records and location information accurately and promptly to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Inspect and maintain reach trucks including performing preshift inspections checking fluid levels tyre pressures and safety features and reporting any defects malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Follow health and safety regulations standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workplace safety protocols including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) operating equipment safely and reporting any safety hazards or incidents.
