Pay Rate:
$42.03 per hour
New hires are eligible for $5000 Signon Bonus AND Up to $5000 Relocation Bonus (if applicable) *
- Must be new hires to International Paper after 10/13/2021 and must have not been employed by another International Paper location in the previous three 3 months
- Up to $5000 in relocation assistance will be available for new hires that relocate more than 75 miles from the Savannah Mill

The Job You Will Perform:
As a General Mechanic duties include but are not restricted to replacing valves & gaskets basic welding repacking pumps & valves forklift operations screwed pipe & tubing installations cylinder repair pump repair & replacement repair of rotating assemblies roll repair and replacements motor replacements and repair of mechanical drive systems.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- At least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Twoyear Associate Degree in a related fieldORa registered apprenticeshipORsimilar formal training is required
- Three or more years of experience in Heavy Industrial Maintenance
- Previous multiskilled maintenance experience
- Must possess high standards in the areas of safety quality ethics craftsmanship customer focus and leadership skills
- Knowledge of mechanical drives pumps seals lubrication and hydraulics
- Piping layout and installation experience
- Welding experience: stick mig tig certified
- Machine shop skills ex. Lathes boring balancing CNC etc.
- Previous multiskilled maintenance experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of mechanical maintenance in pulp and paper industry
PLUS: Must be willing to meet the following requirements:
- Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of as a condition of employment
- Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
- Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
- Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
- Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
- Wear required safety equipment
- Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot dusty/dirty around hazardous chemicals noise heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)
- Participate on the HEAT team (in house emergency response team)
