We are seeking multiple limited duration Temp Lodging Specialists (Social Service Assistant) to join our Child Welfare team in Beaverton.
This is a limited duration position and is scheduled to end on 06/30/2025. Limitedduration employees eligible for benefits.

Summary of Duties
As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregons most vulnerable children and families. As a Temp Lodging Specialist you will:
Oversee daily activities: Ensure the safety hygiene wellbeing and care of youth in temporary lodging including school attendance and appointments.
Provide Behavioral Support: Offer redirection and guidance to youth as needed.
Transport Youth: Provide transportation for youth to school appointments and social activities.
Coordinate Activities: Coordinate for temporary lodging supervision and activities.
Identify Services: Recommend necessary services to caseworkers for case planning.
Gather Information: Collect and document information objectively from case providers clients family members schools and other relevant sources to support family time planning.
Ensure Safety and Wellbeing: Safeguard the safety and wellbeing of youth.
Minimum Qualifications
One year experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services children services senior services mental or developmental disability services substance abuse programs juvenile corrections programs or occupational skills programs; OR
Possession of a current certification in Child Development Early Childhood Education Addiction Counseling Preparation or Juvenile Corrections; OR
45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology psychology early childhood education criminal justice human services juvenile corrections or occupational skills training; OR
An Associates degree in a field not closely related to Social Work/Human Services and six months of human services related experience (i.e. work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged employment abuse and neglect substance abuse aging mental or physical disabilities juvenile prevention health cultural competencies and/or inadequate housing).

Experience with collaborating with costaff and other team members ensuring seamless care and support for children and families.
Experience with clearly communicating with team members and leads to ensure efficient operations and quality care.
Experience with applying equitable practices and traumainformed care in interactions with clients.
Experience with adjusting seamlessly to changing environments and shifting priorities.
Experience with identifying problems and generating effective solutions.

Working Conditions
Work Locations: Offices homes of participants and community sites and hotels.
Travel: Occasional travel for meetings trainings and other case related activities including required occasional overnight travel. Travel is also required for transporting children and/or families/parents to appointments.
Hours: This position requires coverage of shifts Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM with flexibility to work early or late as needed and occasional weekend availability.
Physical Requirements: Frequent physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting children with car seats.
This role involves handling sensitive topics related to trauma abuse and crises requiring a traumainformed approach that is essential to ensure a safe environment.
You may interact with individuals who have experienced trauma and may have difficulty managing their emotions.
Be prepared for stressful situations that require quick decisionmaking to ensure safety for yourself and others.

A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
