You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Department of Adult & Juvenile Detention is looking to fill 1 one part time Personal Recognizance Investigator position.A list will be established from this recruitment to fill an immediate vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they become available. This list may remain in effect for up to 18 months but may expire sooner if the list of qualified candidates is exhausted. This opportunity is open to the general public and internal King County employees. Preference will be given to current Department of Adult and Juvenile employees only who have completed their probationary period. Additional preference will be given to current Local 21 AD members who meet the minimum qualifications.
The Community Corrections Division serves individuals involved in the King County Court System. The division provides services pre and postconvictions. The primary programmatic areas are Electronic Home Detention Community Center for Alternative Programs and the Intake Services Unit.
Duties include conducting onetoone interviewswith persons who have been newly booked into jail to determine release eligibility and make appropriate program and release recommendations.Conducting oneonone interviews in specialty courts to determine program need.Staff works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholdersincluding but not limited to inmate references and outside interviews are conducted within the booking area and inmate housing areas ofthe correctional facility and entails working with a diverse population of inmates departments and court personnel.A bachelors degree with three or more years of professional fulltime paid work experience conducting intake interviews screening and/or client assessments OR a High School Diploma or GED with three or more years of professional fulltime paid work experience conducting intake interviews screening and/or client assessments.
A bachelors degree with major coursework in criminal justice criminal law social and/or behavioral sciences with three or more years of professional fulltime paid work experience conducting intake interviews screening and/or client assessments preferred.

WORK LOCATION: The Personal Recognizance Investigator will work within a secure jail setting and may be assigned to either the Seattle Division King County Correctional Facility in downtown Seattle OR the Kent Division at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent. Employees must be able to work at either the Seattle or Kent facilities as needed. Assignments are subject to the staffing needs of the department and collective bargaining unit bid processes. On occasion there will be need for court appearances and or assignment to a specialty court.
SCHEDULE: This is a career service parttime overtime eligible position with a work schedule of Saturday and Sunday 5:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Start and end time can be flexible by up to one hour if agreed upon by supervisor. This schedule is subject to change.Facilities are operational 24 hours per day seven days per week. Candidates must be able to work a schedule that includes evenings weekends and possibly holidays and must be able to be contacted in emergency situations. Work schedule is subject to the staffing needs of the department and collective bargaining unit bid processes.
